Jakarta City Council welcomes the self-management system for Bantar Gebang Integrated dump site by Jakarta Provincial Government. In fact, council suggests the waste management could be managed by city-owned enterprises (BUMD).

Triwisaksana, City Council Deputy, said the self-management run by Jakarta Dept. of Cleanliness is used as transition period before handled by BUMD. One of BUMDs that can manage is PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro).
“It can be managed by Jakpro,” he said, Monday (7/25).
Bantar Gebang New System Saves BudgetHe added that this way can make the dump site to be more professional. “It should increase the leverage from sanitary into waste energy plan, and changed into electricity power,” he added.
According to him, the agency is not well-prepared in managing the dump site, especially with the self-management system.
“It needs more plans before implementing the system,” he closed.
